đ° Main Street, U.S.A.
The first area you'll experience upon entering Magic Kingdom is Main Street, U.S.A.
Here you'll find shopping, dining, character cavalcades, and some of the best views of Cinderella's Castle. It's also one of the most popular locations for viewing the Festival of Fantasy Parade and Happily Ever After fireworks.
Don't Miss:
â¨Pro Tip
Magic Kingdom is larger than many first-time visitors expect. To save time, try grouping attractions by land instead of crisscrossing the park throughout the day. Combining a solid rope drop strategy with Lightning Lane reservations can help you experience far more attractions while spending less time in line.
Fantasyland is where Disney stories come to life and is especially popular with families and younger children. Many of the park's classic attractions can be found here, along with enchanting castles, beloved characters, and immersive themed areas.
This is also one of the two lands open during Early Entry for Disney Resort guests.
Don't Miss:
Storybook Circus is inspired by the classic Disney circus theme, this section of Fantasyland features family-friendly attractions, interactive play areas, and opportunities to meet beloved Disney characters.
Don't Miss:
â¨Good to Know:
Storybook Circus is one of the best areas in Magic Kingdom for families with toddlers and younger children. Most attractions have little or no wait early in the morning, making it a great area to visit after rope dropping some of the park's more popular attractions.
Step into the future in Tomorrowland, where space travel, technology, and adventure take center stage.
Home to several of Magic Kingdom's most popular thrill attractions, Tomorrowland offers fun for both kids and adults. Like Fantasyland, it is open during Early Entry for Disney Resort guests.
Don't Miss:
Inspired by the American frontier, Frontierland is filled with adventure, exploration, and some of the park's most iconic attractions.
This area is especially popular with guests seeking thrills and classic Disney storytelling.
Don't Miss:
Adventure awaits around every corner in Adventureland. Explore tropical jungles, mysterious temples, and pirate hideaways while experiencing some of Magic Kingdom's most beloved attractions.
Don't Miss:
Step back in time to colonial America in Liberty Square, a charming area that celebrates the nation's early history.
Though smaller than the other lands, Liberty Square is home to one of the most iconic attractions in all of Walt Disney World.
Don't Miss:
These are the attractions I recommend prioritizing first. If you're using Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass, these should be among your first selections.
Lightning Lane: Single Pass Recommended
Height Requirement: 48"
Located in Tomorrowland - Open for Early Entry
One of the most popular attractions in all of Walt Disney World.
If riding TRON is important to your family, consider purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass or heading there at park opening.
đĄIs it worth rope-dropping?
Personally, I don't think so. While you can get in line before park opening, TRON doesn't operate during Early Entry. That means you're spending one of the most valuable times of the day waiting instead of riding attractions like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan's Flight, or Space Mountain with minimal waits.
LL Priority: Single Pass
Height Requirement: 38"
Located in Fantasyland - Open for Early Entry.
One of the most popular attractions in Magic Kingdom, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train consistently posts long wait times and is one of the hardest rides to fit in later in the day without a plan.
đĄIs it worth rope dropping?
Yes, if you're staying on-site. - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is one of the best Magic Kingdom rope drop options if you are not purchasing the Single Pass. Just be sure to arrive 30â45 minutes before Early Entry begins.
If purchasing the Single Pass: Iâd skip rope dropping it and sleep in! Or use that valuable Early Entry time for attractions like Peter Pans Flight, Space Mountain or Buzz Lightyearâs Space Ranger Spin instead.
Lightning Lane Priority: High
Height Requirement: None
Located in Fantasyland - Open for Early Entry
Don't let the ride's age fool youâPeter Pan's Flight consistently has some of the longest wait times in Magic Kingdom. This should be one of your top Lightning Lane priorities.
đĄIs it worth rope dropping?
Yes, if you're staying on-site. Peter Pan's Flight is one of the most popular attractions in Magic Kingdom and wait times climb quickly. Arrive early and head there first for the biggest time savings.
No, if you're staying off-site. By the time regular park admission begins, Early Entry guests have usually filled the queue. Your time is better spent starting elsewhere and using a Lightning Lane for Peter Pan if available.
Lightning Lane Priority: High
Height Requirement: None
Located in Adventureland - Not Open for Early Entry.
Jungle Cruise is one of the most popular family attractions in the park. Lightning Lane return times often disappear early in the day, making this a great attraction to prioritize.
Lightning Lane Priority: Medium-High
Height Requirement: None
Located in Liberty Square - Not Open for Early Entry
A Magic Kingdom classic that remains incredibly popular. Wait times tend to stay elevated throughout the day, making this a solid Lightning Lane selection.
Lightning Lane Priority: High
Height Requirement: 40"
Located in Frontierland - Not Open for Early Entry
One of Magic Kingdom's newest headliner attractions, Tiana's Bayou Adventure regularly posts long wait times and is worth prioritizing early.
đĄMy tip: If you want to get wet - pick one of those first 2 rows! I request the 3rd row every time. đ
Lightning Lane Priority: Medium-High
Height Requirement: None
Located in Adventureland - Not Open for Early Entry
Another fan favorite that can develop long waits later in the day. If available, this is a great attraction to snag a LL for after you have secured your highest-priority selections.
"Rope drop" is the Disney term for arriving at the park before it opens and being among the first guests allowed into the attractions.
Guests staying at a Disney Resort receive Early Entry, which allows them to enter select attractions 30 minutes before official park opening. While 30 minutes may not sound like much, it's often the lowest wait times you'll see all day and can save you hours of waiting.
Why It Matters:
If Magic Kingdom opens at 9:00 AM, Early Entry begins at 8:30 AM.
My family is usually on Disney transportation about an hour before Early Entry begins so we can be at the park and in line 30â45 minutes ahead of time.
Our first stop is usually Tomorrowland.
Since most Early Entry guests head straight to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Peter Panâs Flight, we typically use that time to ride Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear with lower waits.
Why this works for us:
We almost always purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and book Peter Panâs Flight with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. That allows us to avoid the biggest standby waits while still knocking out other attractions first thing in the morning.
If youâre not purchasing Lightning Lanes:
I would absolutely change the strategy and head straight to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at rope drop. Then keep an eye on Peter Panâs Flight wait times throughout the day.
đĄThere isn't one "perfect" rope-drop strategy for everyone. The best plan depends on whether you're using Lightning Lane, who you're traveling with, and which attractions are most important to your family.
1. Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen
This is my familyâs top table service pick in Magic Kingdom. The atmosphere is fun, the menu is a little more adventurous than some of the other options in the park, and the Brazilian Cheese Bread is an absolute must-order.
2. Liberty Tree Tavern
If your family loves hearty comfort food, Liberty Tree Tavern is such a solid choice. Think oven-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and all the cozy favorites served family-style. Itâs filling, family-friendly, and one of our go-to Magic Kingdom meals.
3. Tonyâs Town Square Restaurant
Tonyâs is another favorite of ours, especially for the adorable Lady and the Tramp theming. If you can snag a reservation around parade time and get outdoor seating or a table near the windows, itâs such a fun experience! And if you order the Tower of Garlic Bread with all that melty cheese⌠youâll understand exactly why it made the list for my family.
(Also - apparently I have a thing for cheesy bread.)
Sleepy Hollow
Our favorite Magic Kingdom breakfast stop! We love the fresh fruit or Nutella waffles in the morning, itâs one of those places we find ourselves going back to again and again.
Caseyâs Corner
If youâre craving classic theme park comfort food, Caseyâs is always a win. The corn dog nuggets are one of our favorites.
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe
Pecos Bill is one of our favorite quick service lunch spots in Magic Kingdom. From the queso fries to the Southwest Salad and Rice Bowl, there are several great options here when you want something a little more filling. Pecos has something for everybody!
Cheeseburger Spring Rolls
These are a must-try Magic Kingdom snack! Youâll find the spring roll cart just before entering Adventureland, and theyâre one of the most popular savory snacks in the park for good reason.
Gastonâs Tavern
If youâre in Fantasyland, donât skip Gastonâs Tavern. The Warm Cinnamon Roll and the Creme BrulĂŠ Croissant are a couple of our favorite treats in Magic Kingdom, and itâs a great snack stop when you need a little break from the crowds - or the heat.
